The morning was a rush to the Shinkansen - Japan's high speed train - to go see Mt Fuji.
The train is nearly "to the minute accurate" and you better be ready to jump on as soon as the doors open.
You only have a few minutes to board with an engineer watching. Once the doors are clear, you are off!
The trip takes about 1 hour 37 minutes from Shinagawa City, Tokyo to Shin-Fuji station, 70 miles away via the local Kodama service.
The view of Mt. Fuji. It is definitely there, somewhere.
Back to Tokyo and found the Shibuya scramble crossing.
The public transit in Tokyo was fantastic. No one spoke and no urine smells.
Next destination was Ameyoko shopping district to see what I could find. It was an easy visit right next to the Ueno train station.
Nope, I cannot read Japanese kanji. The gate could be saying "Abandon all hope, ye who enter" and I would not have known better.
There is said to be over 400 shops here.
Yes, the right pan appears to be chicken feet. Actually it is pretty popular the world over. Not that I am an expert in chicken anatomy, but what muscle is in a chicken foot?
Long day, taking the train back towards the Tokyo port.
Tokyo feels like a city in the future.
My weak attempt of a self portrait. No, not a "selfie."
Lit up cruise ship.
View from the port looking towards Yokohama.
Tiny part of the Tokyo skyline.
